Price comparison websites are a great way to access a wide range of public liability insurers – more than you could ever contact directly yourself. According to The One Show's finance guru Justin Rowlatt, the internet is a good place to search for ways to help make your money go further. There are many websites which compare the prices of a wide variety of personal and business insurance. Experts suggest that using these websites could save you hundreds of pounds a year.

Number of claims against public liability insurance on the increase
The "compensation culture" and increasing legal costs (often from increasingly smaller claims) means even the most safety conscious business is i likely to face a claim for compensation. According to Datamonitor: By 2008, the total cost of meeting compensation claims in the UK will be £10.2bn.

Remember: Public liability insurance although not a legal requirement is required by any business wishing to work for government bodies, local authorities and corporations including the BBC.
